There are many ways for a small business to setup a backup and recovery system. Few solutions are as easy or inexpensive to manage as EVaults. The system uses existing Internet connections to automatically backup Microsoft Windows networks to offsite data vaults.

Network backup and recovery services provider EVault introduced EVault Small Business Edition (SBE), a web-based backup system designed specifically for small businesses with limited IT resources.

"From a data protection perspective, EVault SBE brings the same value proposition to small businesses that payroll services did in the past," said EVault CEO Phil Gilmour. "Both payroll and data protection are headaches for small businesses to manage and both require close attention because the consequences of losing your data is huge. Why not outsource that function to experts for as little as $85 a month? It's the best form of insurance you can buy!"

EVault SBE uses existing Internet connections to automatically backup Microsoft Windows networks to offsite data vaults managed by EVault. It is designed to make it easy for small businesses with less than 15GB to manage both the backup and recovery of critical network data. The backups are scheduled to occur automatically each night and file recoveries are accomplished by a simple "point and click" of the mouse. Dedicated EVault SBE Customer Service engineers walk customers through a five-minute telephone installation process that gets them up and running.

EVault SBE eliminates the need for small businesses to track and manage tape-based backup systems, including the need to update software and to periodically replace end-of-life hardware and worn-out tapes. LeaderPromos.com is an online promotional product store that had experienced data loss and unreliable performance from its tape-based backup system.

"Our company's viability is directly tied to our Web site's availability and the security of our transactions," said Stephanie Leader, president of the Columbus, Ohio-based company. "In our business, resources are limited so you have to do a little of everything. EVault SmallBusiness Edition eliminates this hassle and concern for us and enables us to focus on serving our customers."

The EVault SBE service supports Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Advanced Server, and XP Professional Servers. EVault SBE customers are accessed a flat monthly fee starting $85 per month.
